The summer school aims to bring together young researchers and their fellow seniors who are involved in or related to three intertwined multidisciplinary projects concerning dispersive hydrodynamics and oceanography, namely the ANR projects BoND (Boundaries, Numerics, Dispersion) and DyFiCoLTI (Dynamique des Fluides, Couches limites, Tourbillons et Interfaces), as well as the ERC project BLOC (Mathematical study of Boundary Layers in Oceanic Motions).
Extended lectures will be proposed by experts on vortex dynamics, dispersive phenomena, and boundary layer problems arising in fluid mechanics and nonlinear optics. A close attention will be paid so that the lectures are accessible for researchers with different backgrounds, ranging from physical experiments to numerical and mathematical analysis.
Furthermore, 13 young researchers (PhD level) will give short talks on their research field.
